In the Year of Pitt Global, we celebrate Pitt being at home in the world and promote the University as a global convening point. Our citizens (students, faculty, and staff), communities, campuses, and local and global networks will engage freely in collaborative dialogue and activities that advance interdisciplinary educational and research pursuits and improve the quality of life, health, prosperity and social mobility of people in Pittsburgh and around the world.Vision
The Year of Pitt Global aims to help mobilize and highlight efforts across Pitt to integrate local and international perspectives that advance new knowledge and ground-breaking innovation while fostering cultural awareness, worldwide partnerships and life-changing research.Competition
The Office of the Provost opened a Year of Pitt Global Matching Funds competition in August 2018 and welcomed schools, campuses, departments, and units across the University to submit innovative program and project proposals incorporating international perspectives. With more than $1 million in Year of Pitt Global projects supported by the competition and numerous programs and projects in the pipeline, applications closed in December.
